Sounds like a warped disc to me.   Even the slightest warp will cause that ticking while riding.  I also had a warped disc but was able to eliminate the warp with some careful bending of the disc.   I didn?t have a tool for that but used a very large crescent wrench which worked well enough.   It might even go away on its own once the brake pad has worn down enough.

Serial 1 Modifications / Re: Suspended Seatpost
« on: March 20, 2023, 04:17:39 PM »
I finally settled on the Suntour NCX seatpost.   It works like a charm set and forget.  I highly recommend this as you won?t notice it while riding until you hit a bump or pothole and realize that it doesn?t sting as much.   They are also inexpensive to purchase.
We bought the 27.2 x 400mm size.  Currently on sale at Suntour for $69.87 down from $129.95, as far as I?m concerned this is a great deal for comfort.
Cheers

Yeah I’d love some parts like an extra battery, need a front fender setup and the Serial 1 jersey in the video just enjoy the ride.

Wow that’s definitely a good deal.    Where did you learn that, you must have an inside contact.     The link just takes you to the buy now page for any of the bikes and of course they are not going to mention anything about saving a $1000 because people would wait until the 19th.
I almost want another one.

I like everything about it except I think a small milk crate would fit the bike better.
I see the current bid is up to $3900, probably not gonna get to the $14200 that the first 1 off Mosh got.

Wow, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing! What tires are these exactly?

Those tires are Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pros as far as I’m concerned they are the best tires for riding on icy surfaces.     They have enough studs to ensure good grip.
I have used them on my 29er mountain bike for years.

Studded tires went on my step-thru.
What are you all doing for winter riding.

I totally love it.   The paint looks fantastic.   If I had the cash I’d buy one.

There are a number of things that can be changed and I encourage everyone to explore them all.
One of my favorite’s is having the battery% displayed on the controller.

when I had 27.5 Tyres on my commuter I was unable to find studded, road-oriented, tyres. At this point there are some, but I am still concerned about availability.

I don’t know how far you are commuting or how snowy/icy your conditions would get but I have used Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro tires on my bikes for winter commutes for years.   They have plenty of nobs/studs and are sure footed wether on pure ice or hard packed snow.   They are not a commuter tire but I have commuted on them for many years in Anchorage and to be honest I wasn’t racing to get to work just wanted to keep the rubber side down.
They have a couple sizes 27.5 x 2.25 and even 27.5 x 2.6 which is the tire size used on the S1 Mosh’s these tires would fit on any of the S1 bikes.
I’ve already purchased a set and will be riding as much as possible this winter (weather permitting deep snow like 6” or more is not easily rideable on smaller tires that’s why I ride a pugsley).
Check them out here.

General Chat / Brose power Settings
« on: September 06, 2021, 03:46:37 PM »
Saw this in another forum.

The factory settings are:
Eco: 15%
Tour: 25%
Sport: 50%
Boost: 100%

So I reconfigured it to:
Eco: 25%
Tour: 50%
Sport: 75%
Boost: 100%

There are a number of other things that can be changed once in the settings menu, such as changing the time, light settings, adding a battery % readout to the screen.

Hold down the left button on the front of the Brose Allround LCD color display. It’ll bring up a menu with trip information, reset and settings. Reset resets the trip info. Select the settings and explore the options you can change.
If you have a Mosh I’m not sure how you would change the settings since you don’t have a screen, maybe contact support on that.

General Chat / Re: First Ride on my new Rush City Speed

Wow Frank that’s a great review.  Glad your enjoying your speed model.  We had to go through all that when we got our step-thrus and ended up at 60 rpm for cadence and the lady loves that.   I know that the cadence will affect the range as the more pedaling you do (higher cadence) the more range you get.     I want to get the bigger batteries for them with 529 WH we’re getting about 30ish miles mostly in sport and some boost for the bigger/longer climbs.  We didn’t change or play around with the gear ratio at start up it seemed to provide just enough power to get the bike rolling.   Maybe I’ll mess with it when I go for a ride by myself.    I’m not sure why S1 settled on the particular settings when they started shipping bikes.   I think everyone will need to tweak their bikes when they get them.  I can imagine folks going back to dealers to get help as some will not be savvy enough.   Agreed people just want to hop on and go.
